New ArKaos VJ 3.6 DMX
ArKaos has just released a new version of their professional
video authoring software, ArKaos VJ 3.6 DMX.

Main new features in ArKaos VJ 3.6 DMX:

• Soft-edge
  Users can now select a custom video resolution for output allowing - from a single computer! - to output visuals on multiple screens (i.e. different visuals on separate screens) or on a wide screen (i.e. a large visual on several screens next to the other) with a Soft-Edge option for seamless blending between the screens.
• MSEX protocol
  A new open protocol called MSEX (Media Server EXtension) has been implemented in collaboration with Capture, ETC and Chamsys; it allows a better integration on most lighting desks making it possible to see the file names and thumbnails of your visuals and monitor the output directly from the lighting desk, all this through a simple network connection.
• LightJockey compatibility
  The compatibility with LightJockey 2.7.1 has been greatly improved: Martin has added built-in ArKaos VJ DMX fixtures tiny and full into their software.
• 43 new effects
  This new version also adds support for the Shader effects with a set of 43 new fully configurable effects which benefit from the Hardware Accelerated video engine (the HW Mode) and its unprecedented visual smoothness and image quality.
• Universal Binary for Mac Intel
  The Mac version of ArKaos VJ 3.6 now comes as Universal Binary, with native Mac Intel support, Mac OSX "Tiger" users have also access to the 73 effects from Apple's Core Image library when using the software in HW Mode.
• Upgrade, price and availability:
  • ArKaos VJ 3.x DMX users registered in 2006 can upgrade for free at arkaos.net
  • ArKaos VJ 3.x DMX users registered before 01/01/2006 can order an upgrade key for 200 eur (per license, excl. taxes)
  • New ArKaos VJ 3.6 DMX software boxes are available to ship from now on at the recommended price of 739 eur (excl. taxes)
